Our Partner Beneficios de Boquete is a multi-generational coffee family of five farms including La Gloria, San Anselmito, Jaramillo, San Sebastian and Hortigal.
Originally registered in 1914 by an English topgrapher who surveyed 12 cultivated hectares of coffee in the are of Boquete. One can still find coffee tree trunks of 12" from the early times. SUMATRA
Our Partners in Sumatra were
introduced to coffee around in North Sumatra highlands on the north-eastern side of Lake Toba in 1888 and then the Gayo highlands in Aceh near Lake Laut Tawar in 1924. The other main province for quality Arabica production is Lintong, on the south-western edge of Lake Toba.
Due to Sumatra’s volatile weather, wet-hulling is the main methods used to process coffee beans which are dried until they reach 50% moisture content prior, producing a complex, earthy and unique flavor.
